head-space pt. 2

This post is going to be rather full because I did not bullet journal in October, and I need a place to write everything down. October was a very full month, and although life is slowing down, is life ever really slow? Didn't think so. Anyway, it's November 1st and here's a short list of things I am looking forward to this month (before I get into the rest of it).

- watching Poldark series 5 (not sure when it's going to be on DVD, though)
- reading Resurgence (it's on my goal list for November)
- finishing this video I'm working on (I'm really close and promise you will be able to see it very soon.)

And now, welcome to a small recap of my October.

. . .

Latest Obsession: (if you wish to call it that)

MERCY STREET. You might have seen me post about season 2 on insta stories a couple weeks ago. I have been waiting to finish it before I came out and demand that ya'll watch it (which I'm not demanding that you watch it just. . .HIGHLY SUGGESTING that you do) . In 2016, I saw bts on AnnaSophia Rob's Instagram and I thought, "oohh this looks neat." I only started watching it a few weeks ago, so wow. . . I guess I've had it on my list for three years.

This show did not disappoint. The characters are fantastic, the story line interesting (have you ever seen a war drama that didn't show any battles?). The costumes are SO good. The dialogue reminds me so much of Poldark. The opening theme is 39 seconds of bliss. I just fell in love with it.

I will say that if you can't stand unfinished endings, don't bother. You can watch the first season without much trouble, but the second is really when the character development starts, and the true path of the show comes out. You start caring about what happens, and then you're left with a season finale that has you very much wanting a season 3. But. Due to lack of funding (I've read) the show was cancelled.

Keira is having major withdrawals. To compensate, she is re-watching it with Little Brother, listening to the score, and blogging about it. A Pinterest board is on the way. . .

Other Things I Enjoyed

books:
We Were the Lucky Ones | Georgia Hunter
The Road Back to You | Ian Morgan Cron (seriously, though. This book was SO GOOD.)
Come Matter Here | Hannah Brencher (gonna do an entire post on this one day soon)

film:
The Theory of Everything
Brain on Fire
The Time Traveler's Wife
Lone Survivor (only for the strong at heart)

music:
Acoustic Storytime | Jason Grey
Outlander: season four
Water for Elephants | the one and only: James Newton Howard

. . .

Thinking about. . .

Winter. If asked, I ususally say I don't mind winter. Seeing as there's no point in complaining about things you can do nothing about (I really don't follow that advice irl jk). But this year I'm not feeling it. Thinking about the post I did last year about how to stay productive during the winter and kinda laughing at 2018 Keira's optimism. Winter was an adventure! That's because She hadn't gotten stuck in the snow yet lol. But hey, it'll be okay. I can learn new sock patterns.

hope your weekend is lovely.

  2. The Ber months always pass me by; it's when the months go by a bit too fast and before I know it, it's already the New Year!! But now I'm just savoring these last few months of the year by spending more time doing the things I love most.
Mercy Street seems interesting, especially when you mentioned that it's a War drama, except there are no war scenes. What?! haha. It's sad though, that it got cancelled :(
Gonna check out your music recommendations~ thanks for sharing, Keira!

    1. I know! I think there's one small war scene in the second season but that's it. Definitely a different take on the typical "war drama" genre.

Hope you find new favorite music! Enjoy this slower season for all its worth.

      thanks for stopping by.
      cheers.

  3. No, I don't think that life ever is truly slow - just different types of full. :-)

I am SO excited to see your video. I can't wait to see your magic:) And I really must dig into all of your suggested books. They all sound brilliant.

If you ever get tired of the snow, I'm always ready with coffee and a pile of good books here in the south. :-)

    1. "just different types of full..." <<< yes indeed.

You gotta let me know what books you enjoyed off the list Always down for book chats, myself.

I think I might take you up on that one day. Lord knows I need to visit the east coast at least once in my life.

      hugs.
